Inside K-Beauty Town: A Day at the Korea Beauty Festival
Last weekend, I stepped into a true beauty wonderland: K-Beauty Town at the Korea Beauty Festival, held inside and outside the iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). It was more than just a beauty event—it was a fully immersive journey into Korean aesthetics, skincare innovation, and self-expression.
A Full Day of Beauty & Learning
The space was massive, with both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas that showcased an impressive variety of Korean beauty brands, skincare clinics, and experience zones. My day began with a makeup class, followed by a fashion trend session, both of which offered real tips and insights into K-beauty’s evolving identity.
I also got my personal color analysis done—an experience that helped me discover tones that naturally flatter my skin, and even inspired my next beauty haul.
Discovering Brands, Clinics & Skincare Futures
Walking through the aisles of booths, I explored everything from indie cosmetic brands to major dermatology clinics like Lienjang and AB Plastic Surgery. There were exciting 1+1 offers, product testing zones, and even beauty tech demos. I swatched, sniffed, and snapped my way through lotions, cushions, ampoules, and perfumes.
A Highlight: Blossom Healing City
What truly stole my heart was the Blossom Healing City—a dreamy floral-themed special exhibition filled with giant paper flowers, soft lights, and botanical displays. It was both beautiful and calming, offering a gentle moment of stillness in the middle of the festival buzz.
In Blossom Healing City, it wasn’t just the dreamy flowers and pastel installations that made an impression—you could experience a wide range of famous Korean skincare, makeup, and perfume brands, all curated in a peaceful, garden-like space. As soft music played and birdsong echoed through the speakers, it felt like stepping into a beauty dreamland designed to refresh both skin and soul.
